Frequently asked questions

If you have a general question, there’s a chance it’s already answered below.

⏲ What’s your hourly rate?

My rate is € 70,00 (VAT excluded)

If you hire me I also offer billing per day, or a flat fee for the whole project.

⏳ How long does a typical website project take?

Depending on the size of your project it can take anywhere between 2 to 6 months.

Things to take into consideration:

  • Complexity
Does it have many different types of content, and/or custom functionalities?
  • Number of stakeholders
In my experience the lower the number of people who have to decide, the quicker the turn-around.
  • Time management
Building a website is a collaborative effort! I do the heavy (tech) lifting but I need your knowledge of your organization, business or community to make it the best it can be. We’ll do regular check-ins and feedback rounds so please make sure you have room in your schedule to help me help you.
  • Expertise
I highly recommend working with other professionals to speed up your project when you don’t have the necessary skills in-house. Copywriting, translation, photography, video, illustration, animation, etc, are all options that can be discussed and incorporated in your project.

⚡ I need a website super fast, can you help me?

Probably not, I’m usually booked for 2 to 3 months in advance.

That doesn’t mean we can’t have a short call to discuss your project; maybe I can refer you to someone else, or we can find a deadline that works for both of us.

✨ When are you taking on new projects

Current planning: I’m currently not taking on new projects! I’ll be back in September 2023.

💻 Why do you use WordPress?

It’s good. It’s solid. It’s not the latest flashy CMS or JavaScript framework, but it does the job. On top of that it’s well maintained, has good documentation, and a lovely community.

Plus, it’s easy to use! So easy, in fact, that you can manage your content yourself. (If you want to, of course; I can always help out.)

🚀 Will you still be available to help after the website launch?

Yes, absolutely! I help with common website needs like maintenance, updates, security checks and bug fixing. I also often remain a point of contact for clients to discuss their online services, or to help expand them.

👩🏽‍💻 Are you available for development-only work?

No, I find that it’s near impossible to create a great product when you split the design and development phases; that’s why I prefer to be present for both.

That doesn’t mean I won’t work with other designers or developers – I love working in a small team! – but I don’t enjoy building something without understanding the bigger picture.

🖥 Are you available for hire for in-house or full-time functions?

No, I’m afraid not. I work for several clients on a part-time basis so I can’t take on any full-time responsibilities. I also don’t enjoy commuting at all, in the age of remote work it feels inefficient.

I’m happy to meet up with you in person for meaningful meetings, workshops or team get-togethers (in Belgium)!
